It's been a trip writing Book 4.

I started coming up with ideas for the story right after Book 3 was released in 2025. I wrote a lot of notes in during breaks at work, late at night, and when I was at the bar.

It's been a big task. After all, Book 4 isn't just the next entry in the series. It's the follow up to Book 3, the biggest creative thing I've ever done. Since about November of last year, I got to work writing. The free moments I had between work, exercise, new game releases, D&D sessions, random bar hopping, and speed dating events that went nowhere were dedicated to writing the next chapters in William Moon's journey. For a while, I felt good with where the manuscript was going. I thought I was making significant progress and this one wouldn't take me 5 years to finish.

Then, I scrapped it and started over.

I don't know why, but I felt I was getting too carried away with where the story was heading and I needed it to come back down to earth. I didn't delete all of it; I took bits and pieces from the original draft and brought it over to the new one.

This 65-page preview is of the prologue and of the first 8 chapters and takes place over the first day back to school. Feel free to download it and share it with anyone you know that's into YA fiction.

What happens next?

I'm moving on with the next part of the book. Of course, I'll take any and all feedback of these chapters and revise them. But there's still so much more story to tell and I don't want to spend another 5 years trying to tell it....but I probably will.
